Garden Coaching, Events and Classes

One of our goals is to help urban residents learn more about the natural world around them and backyards are a great place to start.  Small Spot Gardens offers garden coaching for individuals, garden parties for groups of friends or neighbors and occasional public classes.  The intent is to help our clients understand why plants do what they do and how to thoughtfully garden with a deeper understanding of how plants grow, change and contribute to a healthy home and city.

Garden Coaching – We have some availability for side by side gardening instruction on weekday afternoons.  We’ll have a conversation ahead of time to pinpoint your specific garden needs and questions and then during the coaching session we’ll work together to prune, trim, weed, etc.  You’ll learn gardening skills and a little about plant biology to make tending your garden easier in the future.  We can even cover easy diy design possibilities as we garden.  Please visit the Contact page to send a garden coaching request.

Garden Parties – If a group of friends or neighbors wants to have a joint coaching session on general gardening topics (planting, pruning, etc) we can arrange a brunch or afternoon party (hosts supply food and drinks).  Please use the Contact page to send an inquiry.  Pricing varies based on the type and size of party and the events can be held on weekends.

Classes – Small Spot Gardens partners with organizations in San Francisco to teach gardening skills, basic garden design and plant science.  Our next class will be a “Life After Lawn” class at Garden For the Environment on Saturday, June 20th @ 10am.  Click the link below for more information:
